1968년에 처음 1편을 개봉한 꽤나 오래된 영화이지만 내용면으로나 비주얼 쪽으로나 지금 봐도 상당히 괜찮은 시리즈라고 생각한다. 특히나, 1편의 마지막 장면은 나에게 빼놓을 수 명장면이었고, 지루하지 않은 탄탄한 스토리를 잘 보여주었기에 많은 사랑을 받았다고 생각한다.(다른 편도 딱히 나쁘진 않았지만, 1편이 워낙 잘 만들어졌다고 생각하기에..)

그리고 2001년에 개봉한 '혹성탈출'은 'Tim Burton' 감독이 소설에 더 충실하게 새로 만든 리메이크 작품으로, 유인원의 모습도 보다 다양해지고 원작소설의 내용과도 제일 가깝다고 한다.(나는 소설을 읽어보지 않아서 잘 모르겠지만..;)

이렇게 '혹성탈출'의 리부트와는 또 다른 재미를 보여준 예전 작품들을 찾아보았다. 몇 달 전부터 시간 나면 찾아봐야지.. 찾아봐야지.. 생각만 하다가 이제야 찾아보게 되었는데.. 역시나 첫걸음을 떼는 것처럼 첫 편을 보기까지 시간이 꽤 걸렸으나.. 그 뒤로는 점점 재미가 들려 피로를 뒤로한 채 다음 편을 계속해서 궁금해하는 요즘이었다.
